Here’s our brand new song, it’s a cover of an old Christmas favorite, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. It started out as just an idea between us, “hey why not cover a Christmas song?” I Declare War did it, so why not us? After some thought we decided on Rudolph, because Jingle Bells and Carol Of The Bells are covered by pretty much every band out there. We recorded, mixed, and mastered it in one day :D
It’s also our first official recording in drop F. We used a heavily detuned 7 string for the recording, but our guitarist is getting an 8 string next week, so expect even better quality the next time around.

Update
Our demo’s been out for a while now, thanks to all who downloaded and/or listened to it on our page, we really appreciate your support :) We have a few more shows coming up, one on October 15th, October 29th, and one on November 6th (check our FB for more details on the shows).
We also got some sweet new equipment, it should make us sound quite a bit better live. Our guitarist Bacon got a full pedalboard, featuring a tube screamer, noise gate, pedal tuner, and a wireless unit. He also got a new baritone 7-string from Douglas, which works wonders for the low low tunings we play in. The other guitarist Mike finally got a Bugera cab, which means now we have two full guitar rigs.
Oh, and we’re also writing a new song, it should come out to be pretty sick :D
Burn The Anathema Lyrics
What a parasite this is, Draining finances away, Unable to sustain itself day to day, This must end now. Drop a dirty bomb, End their futile burdens. Nothing remains. Sweep this continent clean, Of this anathema. Nobody remains. Burn their motionless bodies, For fuel and fact. Charred remains. There is no violation, Of human rights and all, No more misery. Burn this fucking continent, For all the wonders it has. For mass benediction. Burn this fucking continent, For all the wonders it has. For mass benediction. The sun sets on this forsaken land, Not a single living body to be found. And then there were none. You will beg for mercy. But I’ll always say no. You will beg for mercy. But I’ll always say no. There’s nothing that you can do. But accept it and die. There’s nothing that you can do. But accept it and die. And so the chapter closes on the origin, Of human existence. But it won’t be missed. And so the chapter closes on the origin, Of human existence. But it won’t be missed.
Just a sweet line from We Put The Fun In Funeral. Reblog away :D
The Genocide EP is finally out! Go check it out on our Facebook page, or just download it straight from Mediafire. We all worked really hard on this EP, and after months of frustrations, delays, and setbacks, we finally have a product that we’re proud of.
Guitars And Vocals Tracked!
All the guitars have been tracked, this time in drop G with a way better tone. Drums have been EQ’d, and scratch bass has been laid down. I just finished tracking vocals, and everything’s sounding pretty sick so far. Kenny the bassist is coming over tomorrow to track the actual bass lines (the ones we have right now I tracked to get a feel for the mixing and tone).
We’re playing a show July 27th at Medina Hall in Ozone Park, Queens. We’re co-headlining, so it should be awesome. After that, we’re playing a backyard show in Maspeth, Queens, August 6th. Co-headlining that one as well, with all the good heavy bands in NYC playing. It’s pretty awesome how in less than a year we’ve gone from opening all the time to always having a good time slot. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Two Things
First thing is that we’ve parted ways with our second vocalist, Zack. There’s no bad feelings between us, it’s for the best. He wanted to go in a different direction, while we realized that having a second vocalist is pretty much pointless, so we let him go. He’s not disappearing though, he’s already working on another project, so it won’t be long before you hear of him again.
Second thing is that we’re redoing guitars… again. And we’re redoing bass. There’s good reason for this, the first one being that the method mentioned in the previous post didn’t work as well as I had hoped. The second reason is that we’ve decided to tune lower, and will record everything in the new, lower tuning. Before, we were in drop A (AEADF#B), but now we’re in drop G (GDGCEA). Technically, that’s already seven-string territory, but we’re going to continue using sixes for a while, just with thicker strings (14-15 gauge strings).
Demo Recording Update
The drums, guitars, and bass have been recorded fully at this point. The guitars posed the most problems, because I didn’t like the tone, so I made Bacon redo them three or four times (I’m quite the perfectionist). After never being satisfied with how they sounded, I just told him to record everything clean so I could just re-amp them on my own to my likings. Bass was pretty straightforward, because Kenny’s a beast and bass tones are never that hard to get. Once I’m done with guitar tones and basic mixing, I’m going to put vocals on the tracks. I’ve got an SM58 on a mic stand here, ready for recording. Then I’ll take about a week to mix/master it. Can’t say much else about it, don’t want to spoil it, but I will say one thing: BASS DROPS. EVERYWHERE. YEAH.
